Marc Marquez’s dominance at the Grand Prix of Thailand was completely predictable. He was faster to test and brought this speed on the first MotoGP weekend.
Elsewhere in the field, however, there were surprises. Marquez expected that Alex’s brother would fade into the sprint, after the Gresini rider identified the second, but followed him home both on Saturday and Sunday.
Marquez Jr was able to keep the Ducati Factory Rider Francesco Bagnaia even on a lower bike. After a difficult 2024, Franco Morbidelli also impressed, scoring an excellent P4 in the VR46 debut.

Elsewhere, Johann Zarco of LCR has put the best results of the Honda Rider in the seventh. The Japanese manufacturer made a jump from last year when they backed the championship.
And few would expect that Monea Bastianini would score points. Bastianini endured in a miserable pre-season on Tech3 as he tried to adapt to the KTM bike, but rally to finish the ninth in Buriram.
Marc Marquez in Awe of Ai Ogura debut in Thailand Grand Prix
As he was commendable as the aforementioned shows, Ai Ogura was definitely the weekend star. Ogura ended an excellent fifth in his first race, having come home in a fourth sprint.
This was the best result for a debut since 2013, when Marquez finished third at Qatar’s Grand Prix. The Spaniard is used to winning the title that year, of course.

While this is not a realistic goal for Ogura this season, it will come to be regarded as a future world champion if it can produce consistent results like this. Even Pedro Acosta just finished ninth in his debut last year.
In the absence of Jorge Martin, Trackhouse’s signature was Aprilia’s rider, leaving Marco Bezzecchi in his shadow. Agree with Australian motorcycle newsThe winner of the Marquez match “laughed with surprise” when it was tolerated for Ogura’s rhythm.
Ogura learned from the Francesco Bagnaia in the sprint and impressively stuck in eight seconds of the leader the main Grand Prix. It is exciting for the prospect of how good it can be complete to the prime minister’s class.
Neil Hodgson says Martin would hate watching Ogura in Thailand. This is not a reflection of his riding, the Spaniard will be the missing opportunity in what was clearly a very competitive RS-GP25.
Hodgson apologized to Ogura to recommend that Trackhouse Signo2 instead Joe Roberts instead. Davide Brivio’s faith is immediately justified.
A video posted by the Trackhouse for Social Media shows brivio by congratulating Ogura on the Pit Strip. The boss of the team with joy said “well”, as he gave his new signature a stroke on the back.
